When entering the building there was a strong unpleasant odor and lack of cleanliness. When entering the room there where wrappers left on the floor, stains on the bed, no toilet paper holder and the same strong odor. The windows do not open and the smell was so bad to the point were my wife and I were nauseous within a few minutes of being in the room. We had to check out as there were no rooms with ventilation available and it was unbearable.

Please listen to this and other reviews and do not stay here. I’m not a complainer and when I do have a complaint, I usually keep it to myself. But this time I feel I have to say something in the hopes that someone else doesn’t make the mistake of staying here. It’s not even close to worth it. The room I stayed in was filthy and in shambles. The bathroom door frame was ripped out so the door didn’t latch. There were wet, sticky stains on the carpet; and the sink was absolutely covered in long strands of human hair (I’m not exaggerating when I say there were dozens of them and they hadn’t even attempted to clean them). The shower loses pressure after about 5 minutes, the bed sheets had blood stains on them, there were bugs throughout the place including in the halls, and the whole place smells like wet dog. My final complaint is that housekeeping began beating on my door at 9 am trying to clean the room. I had barely woken up and wasn’t ready to check out. You are way better off paying the extra 15-20 bucks to stay in one of the other hotels in town. This place should not be allowed to continue business in traverse city. It’s a stain on an otherwise beautiful town.

If I could give the rooms 0 stars I would. The first room they gave me had a picture on the wall broken and glass went into my nieces foot. The table had dirt on it and the bed had “adult activity” stains on the comforter. The 2nd room they tried to put me in was even worse the comforter stained with what appeared to be vomit stains. The 3rd room they tried to put me in had dried blood and boogers on the wall and the 4th room also had “adult activity” stains on the comforter. The clientele was also leaving a lot to be desired. In addition to the disgusting rooms I had to pay an additional $100 deposit for the room that was not disclosed. Needless to say I checked out immediately and was left scrambling to find another hotel while waiting for a refund from this hotel stay as well as the deposit for this hotel throwing my entire trip over budget. I was here for a funeral, exhausted after driving 14 hours straight and just wanted to go to bed but instead was left scrambling to locate another hotel with my 2 young nieces at midnight. The front desk clerk was helpful, I don’t fault his service at all but the hotel itself is leaving a lot to be desired in both cleanliness and m

I came to the city for a two-week work assignment. I understand that this is a budget hotel, but there are still some basic standards that should be met. Cleanliness is clearly not a priority here. The rooms and furnishings are very old and outdated and could really use some renovation. The bathroom was particularly disappointing. The shower water was either extremely hot or difficult to adjust to a comfortable temperature. The breakfast was very limited, with very few options to choose from. What frustrated me the most was that I requested room cleaning four separate times, and nothing was done. If modernization is not possible at the moment, at the very least more attention should be paid to cleanliness and guest service. I would only recommend this hotel to people who need a place to stay for one or two nights at most.
